Recreating Merle Haggard’s 60s Sound | Sing a Sad Song

Hello folks! This is your friend César Benzoni, and today we’re recreating Merle Haggard’s 60s sound with his classic song “Sing a Sad Song.” This tune was part of his very first album, Strangers, released in 1965 on Capitol Records. I’ve done my best to capture the warmth, tone, and feel of those sessions. I studied the original recording, paid close attention to the arrangements, and used vintage-inspired mics like the Warm Audio WA47Jr, plugins like Soundtoys Radiator, Tape Collection by IK
